About the event
McKenzie’s practice reimagines the wild, expansive landscapes of the Southern U.S., exploring how place identity is shaped by movement and change. In this exhibition, she presents a series of works made between 2023-2025, marking transitional encounters in Austin, TX, and Charleston, SC.
The exhibition title, Static Resonance, alludes to the phenomena of hearing sounds that evoke the ocean's echoes within a shell. Similarly, these works become intimate repositories to hold memory of time and space, reflecting a world beyond its surface.
